REUTERS: U.S. SCORES DEAD LAST IN HEALTHCARE AND FIRST IN MEDICALLY CAUSED DEATHSNot to worry: Big Pharma and Health Insurance profits at an all-time high
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Americans spend twice as much as residents of other developed countries on healthcare, but get lower quality, less efficiency and have the least equitable system, according to a report released on Wednesday. The United States ranked last when compared to six other countries -- Britain, Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand, the Commonwealth Fund report found. "As an American it just bothers me that with all of our know-how, all of our wealth that we are not assuring that people who need healthcare can get it," Commonwealth Fund president Karen Davis told reporters in a telephone briefing.
Previous reports by the nonprofit fund, which conducts research into healthcare performance and promotes changes in the U.S. system, have been heavily used by policymakers and politicians pressing for healthcare reform. Davis said she hoped health reform legislation passed in March would lead to improvements.

The current report uses data from nationally representative patient and physician surveys in seven countries in 2007, 2008, and 2009. It is available here In 2007, health spending was $7,290 per person in the United States, more than double that of any other country in the survey. Australians spent $3,357, Canadians $3,895, Germans $3,588, the Netherlands $3,837 and Britons spent $2,992 per capita on health in 2007. New Zealand spent the least at $2,454. This is a big rise from the Fund's last similar survey, in 2007, which found Americans spent $6,697 per capita on healthcare in 2005, or 16 percent of gross domestic product. "We rank last on safety and do poorly on several dimensions of quality," Schoen told reporters. "We do particularly poorly on going without care because of cost. What a difference---one day you have perfect vision and the next day you are blind---and you have no idea why since you don’t feel sick--- your doctor hasn’t a clue and no doctor you can find has a clue. THAT is scary.
Modern medical practice has always had limits. Geography is one of those limits. Sitting in a stem cell ward today can feel like the waiting lounge in an international airport. Everybody is on a schedule with a purpose. Nobody is from around there. Everyone has a different accent. But the journey has put them in the same place.
Valerie felt healthy one day and then the next her vision was gone. Nothing else seemed wrong. Just no vision. Like something had disconnected her eyes. After a normal childhood she learned to spend her young adult life blind. It took “millions of tests” and nothing from several doctors before she found one that could identify bilateral optic neuritis and to reduce the inflammation.
But her vision was still gone. Damage had been done. During her month receiving adult stem cells she believed she saw a change in her vision. It probably wasn’t the Chinese massage or acupuncture.

So to local doctors in their voodoo-like religion it cannot be a treatment, it can only be a coincidence. That is what they are taught by the priests of their religion of antiquated science at what passes for medical schools in the worst medical system the world has ever seen. #2 SHANE PHILIPFrom Texas to China
Shane went to China last Fall with two major problems, heart and vision. We featured his progress in a January newsletter. Here is an update.
Dear family, friends & partners, All of you are aware of my story and strides towards full recovery from the events of the summer of 2008. All of you have followed my progress and have helped to raise funds that allowed me to travel to China for Adult Stem Cell therapy to restore my sight and overall health. As I have mentioned many times over these past few months, mere words cannot express the overwhelming amount of love, compassion and solidarity that I felt and received from each of you.
First, let me give you a quick update on my health and recovery. My heart has grown stronger everyday much to the surprise of my cardiologist. The heart's ability to pump blood through our system is measured by something known as an ejection fraction rate. A completely healthy heart pumps with an effective rate of 60. This, according to my doctor, is equivalent to an 18 year old athlete on any college campus in the US. My initial ejection fraction rate after the heart attack was 44. A stress test taken in October of last year prior to the China trip measured a rate of 50. A more recent measurement after I returned from China indicated a rate of 57...amazing! My doctors are all scratching their collective heads as it relates to me. I, on the other hand, am not surprised a bit.
Now, an update on my vision. There have not been any significant changes in this area. There are times that I spot things from the corner of my eyes. Light conditions and fatigue play a role in what I am able to notice and capture. Time will only tell how much of my sight and when it may return. I continue to be hopeful and trudge forward towards keeping the promises that I have made.

#3 LETTER TO 60 MINUTES FROM A COPD PATIENT’S SPOUSE
My wife, age 59, was diagnosed with COPD 9 years ago. We went to all the specialists, and they all treated her symptoms with “medicine.” She was hospitalized many times over the next 5 years with pneumonia, each time reducing her lung function, until about a year ago she was on oxygen 24/7, and unable to bathe herself, or walk over a few steps with oxygen. Her doctor diagnosed her as end stage.
While on a golf trip with friends, I was describing my wife’s condition, a friend said that the wife of a friend of his had a similar condition, and that they went to Mexico for a stemcell treatment, and now she was able to go without oxygen, and had improved her lung function dramatically. Of course I found this unbelievable, and asked for the friend’s phone number. I called the husband, and he basically told me that he was fearful of losing his wife, and found a team of doctors that offered stemcell treatments in Mexico.
She had indeed improved to the point that they were going without oxygen during the day, and were able to resume a lot of daily activities that they were not able to do before. My point of this is, there are many applications for stemcell therapies that the US needs to be pursuing. My wife is now able to go without oxygen while sitting, and can walk short distances even without oxygen. She is able to bathe herself, and had energy that she lost years ago, all because of stemcell therapies. I feel CBS 60 Minutes should really take a good look at the stemcell issue. We are not talking embryonic; rather, the stemcells used for my wife were extracted from bone marrow in her own hip. There is a lot of experimental work being done, and people without hope are willing guinea pigs for something that might help their situation.

Dear Jim: Sixty Minutes’ job was to find one stem cell fraud and then convince us that they are all frauds. For their Big Expose’ they interviewed dozens of honest doctors and never mentioned them because in the land of the False, honest stem cell doctors don’t exist anywhere.
They are also supposed to convince us that the REAL fraud, embryonic stem cells, is actually in our future.
They will never talk to someone who disproves their lies. Sixty Minutes itself is a fraud; this having been proven by a feature movie in 1996, “The Insider,” starring Al Pacino and Russell Crowe.---Don
#4 OVERJOYED IN AUSTRALIAThe following was received from Mr. & Mrs. Rodrigues of Australia, regarding their daughter, Michaela (Princess) Sky Rodrigues, born sixteen weeks premature ten years ago, a birth at which her twin brother died. Can you believe it, I am on such a high, I could not wait to tell Wendy when she returned back from work at 11.45pm. Don, we are so overjoyed.
Now princess loves when we hold her by both her hands AND PULL HER UP. This way we get her to lift her head and pull herself forward.
Wendy and I would like our PRECIOUS DAUGHTER to be a ROLE MODEL for the many families raising a child with SECONDARY DYSTONIA. **To have undergone STEM CELL INJECTIONS and WHO is thriving; **On the website of the greatest company in the WORLD which has blessed us with the miracle of stem cells; **And for giving our precious daughter the gift of a new life---a life which allows her to develop more and more every month!

#5 IN EMBRYONICS THE BLIND LEAD THE BLIND;WITH REPAIR STEM CELLS, ITALIAN DOCTORS CURE THE BLIND AND THE POPE APPROVES by David Prentice June 18, 2010 Italian scientists report that they have restored sight to patients blinded by chemical burns using the patient’s own adult stem cells. The team treated 112 patients blinded in one or both eyes; some of whom had been blind for years. Adult stem cells were taken from the edge of a patient’s eye and cultured on fibrin, then the cell layers transplanted onto the damaged eyes. The adult stem cells produced healthy corneas and functioning eyes. Some patients regained sight within two months, while for others with deeper injuries the process took a year before vision was restored. Patients were followed up to ten years after the transplant. After a single transplant, 69% of patients regained vision; in some cases a second transplant occurred, with a total success in 77% of patients and partial vision restoration in 13% of patients. The long-term restoration was an especially encouraging success of the study. Lead researcher Dr. Graziella Pellegrini, of the University of Modena, said: “The patients, they are happy, even the partial successes. We have a couple of patients who were blind in both eyes. Can you imagine for these patients the change in their quality of life?” According to the scientists, the key to success was insuring a high enough concentration of adult stem cells in the graft, so that the stem cells could continue to generate new tissue.

LOS ANGELES -- Dozens of people who were blinded or otherwise suffered severe eye damage when they were splashed with caustic chemicals had their sight restored with transplants of their own stem cells - a stunning success for the burgeoning cell-therapy field, Italian researchers reported Wednesday.
The treatment worked completely in 82 of 107 eyes and partially in 14 others, with benefits lasting up to a decade so far. One man whose eyes were severely damaged more than 60 years ago now has near-normal vision. "This is a roaring success," said ophthalmologist Dr. Ivan Schwab of the University of California, Davis, who had no role in the study - the longest and largest of its kind.
ED NOTE: Of course he had no role, since unwritten California law says no progress in Repair Stem Cells is allowed to be reported. The real news is that the AP actually uses the three words “Adult Stem Cells” in a positive story. First time since 2005---you could look it up.
Images from an Italian study published online Wednesday, June 23, 2010 by the New England Journal of Medicine show the eyes of patients with alkali burns before and after successful stem cell transplants. Dozens of people blinded or injured by chemical burns had their sight restored by transplants of stem cells from their own bodies _ a stunning success for the growing cell therapy field, Italian researchers reported Wednesday.
Stem cell transplants offer hope to the thousands of people worldwide every year who suffer chemical burns on their corneas from heavy-duty cleansers or other substances at work or at home.
The approach would not help people with damage to the optic nerve or macular degeneration, which involves the retina. Nor would it work in people who are completely blind in both eyes, because doctors need at least some healthy tissue that they can transplant.
In the study, published online by the New England Journal of Medicine, researchers took a small number of stem cells from a patient's healthy eye, multiplied them in the lab and placed them into the burned eye, where they were able to grow new corneal tissue to replace what had been damaged. Since the stem cells are from their own bodies, the patients do not need to take anti-rejection drugs.
Adult stem cells have been used for decades to cure blood cancers such as leukemia and diseases like sickle cell anemia. But fixing a problem like damaged eyes is a relatively new use. --- ED NOTE---Right, NEW---AP just had to stick to their lies. As if China hasn’t been helping so-called “permanently blind children” for years with Repair Stem Cells.

NEJM, with no proof and no science, and, as usual, being paid money to lie as they always have been, claimed that those stem cells were inferior heart stem cells. The truth, of course, is that company (www.vescell.com) has treated about 500 late-stage heart patients with those stem cells, and 350 of them got better. No stem cells in the world available today can match that well-published record.
ANYTHING which keep stem cells from helping you and reducing the profits of their masters is allowed by every major medium in the USA: newspapers, TV networks, and what passes for medical journals in the worst medical system the world has ever seen.
